What Vaccines Does My Pet Need? The Complete Guide to Dog & Cat Vaccinations.

Updated: Apr 6

Should I Vaccinate My Pet?

Have you ever heard this as you walk into the vet's office:

"Alright, so it looks like we're due for some vaccinations today?"

....what is 'due?'

Does your pet really need vaccinations?

Perhaps they've already reached full immunity?

But how would we know?

Maybe those early puppy/ kitten vaccines aren't even truly effective because of maternal antibodies still circulating?

In light of recent events, an abundance of social media posts, and countless messages... It's clear that pet owners, like you, have a lot of questions about vaccines.

Therefore, I'll be diving into this one finally as I compile loads and loads of research.

This subject has been on my mind for awhile... But after seeing and hearing about SO many sick pets being 💉 lately, I have to get writing.

It's frightening to me that only about 40% of veterinarians are following the current WSAVA, AVMA, AAHA and BVA vaccine policy guidelines.

👀 This post right here is currently a PREVIEW, and the full version will likely not be fully available or finished until summer 2023. I have a LOT of info compiled, and keep stumbling upon more and more... I also have many pet owner experiences that need to be sorted through who's pets have had severe adverse reactions and even died shortly after a vaccination.

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart for many reasons. And I hope that you can find some clarity to be informed with your decisions, no matter what side you choose within this controversial subject, or if you're somewhere in the middle.

We must always weigh risk vs benefit with any medical decision we make for our families, including our beloved pets.

This lengthy upcoming series will feature/ cover the following headings & topics:

Part 1:

  • What are vaccinations?

  • What different types are available for use in animals?

  • What ingredients do they contain?

  • Why should pets be vaccinated?

  • How should vaccines be stored, handled and given a patient?

  • When should a pet be vaccinated?

  • When should a pet not be vaccinated?

Part 2:

  • Dosing

  • Standard vaccination schedule

  • Risks & adverse reactions

  • Virus shedding

  • Is there a risk to humans?

Part 3:

  • Alternative vaccination schedules

  • Titer testing

  • Natural remedies for immunity

  • Whole Body Wellness

  • Conclusion

Now, this is a general outline that will most definitely be adjusted and changed a bit as I begin diving into & writing this one.
