Guts Galore! Healing Super Cubes!

Updated: Dec 14, 2023

Frozen, colorful, and beneficial to the entire body! These are a great source of natural probiotics, phytonutrients, antioxidants and more! This is a quick recipe that requires very little supplies, ingredients or clean up! Each layer consists of a nutrient dense, gut healing powerhouse! Give your dog or cat's health a boost by supporting their digestion, immune system, and more!

These frozen treats were so much fun to make! But next time, I am definitely going to add more color to them!

Makes:

As many as you want!

Total Time Investment:

About an hour.

Ingredients:

This is one of my absolute favorites, and I've written about it previously. You can read all about it in this post!

Packed with probiotics, flavor, and anti-inflammatory benefits! I use the regular one, but Primal now has different varieties/ flavors, so pick whichever one you'd like! Heck, you could make an entire cube with all the different colors and flavors they offer for a really fun & health packed treat! I let this slightly thaw out to make these treats as it already comes frozen.

  • Steve's Real Food Enhance DogNog

A wonderful blend of anti-inflammatory compounds including turmeric, coconut, & bromelain. Cranberry provides beneficial antioxidants!

  • You can add anything else you want to these! Fruit or veggie purees work great, or even a layer of meat like sliced turkey or some ground beef in between the colors (or on the top)!

Other supplies:

  • Silicone ice cube tray.

Choose a size that is appropriate for your pet. Obviously you would not use this very large size for a small dog or cat. I have a variety of sizes to pick from depending on what I want to make.

  • Spoon

  • Funnel (if needed to pour liquid into tray)

Directions:

Spoon a dollop into each tray spot (it doesn't matter which product you start with).

Put the tray in the freezer and freeze solid before adding each new layer.

Continue adding as many layers as you would like!

Once completed and frozen solid, store the finished cubes in an air tight container or freezer baggie until they are ready to use one!

Serve!

To serve, thaw a cube in a small dish on the counter or in the fridge and add it to your pet's daily meal.

This provides an excellent source of much needed moisture in your pet's diet! Since I put warm water in each of my dog's meals, it's easy to melt down a cube for her!

It's best to always serve food and liquids slightly warmed or at room temperature to avoid stomach upset and slowed digestion. Never feed frozen!

Enjoy!

What does your dog/ cat think?!
